Want to Help?

We are always happy for any offers of help! If you would like to volunteer please contact us at laura@3rdburscough.co.uk

This term we have been as busy as ever! Take a look below at what we've been doing:

16th June 08 - Carry on Camping!

Tonight we carried on with some camp activities that we didn't get to finish at the weekend. We cooked marshmallows on a barbeque and made pin badges

13th - 15th June 08: Guide Camp

This weekend we went to Guide camp at Scarisbrick Campsite. We had lots of fun - to find out what we got up to click here.

9th June 08 - Olympic Badge

Tonight we completed another task for our Olypmic badge. We thought about the Olympics in the future and tried to imagine what it might be like. We designed stamps, coins and banknotes for the 2056 Olypmics and we made up games that might be in the Olypmics of the future!

2nd June 08 - Olympic Badge

Tonight we started our Olympic badge...and we're going for Gold! We started tonight by learning the Olympic hymn which is sung at the beginning of the Olympic Games. We also made our bedding rolls for camp!

19th May 08 - Treasure Hunt

Tonight we went on a treasure hunt around the village. The clues were all in rhyme and even the Guiders struggled to find the answers! But the Guides did great and Beth, Ellie and Molly won the treasure, closely followed by Beth, Becky and Emma.

12th May 08 - Cooking Dampers

Tonight we made and cooked Dampers. Dampers are a traditional camp food that are best cooked on an open fire. It's a great way to make bread without yeast and all the Guides loved them.

28th April 08 - Go For It! Fitness

Tonight we finished our GFI challenge by learning about our body - we drew round two of our Guides and then tried to draw on our organs in the right place which was very amusing! The size and placement of some of the organs was very interesting!! We then played a new game called 'Frisbee Power' which was lots of fun.

21st April 08 - Games Night

Tonight we played some fun new games. They included Quiz Rounders, where we had to answer questions rather than hitting a ball, and the 'Opposite Game' where we had to do the opposite to what was said.
